Honesty Impact!

(Hope you have the reference)

Just trying to give you a honest definition of who I am and what I want to do.

The Vision

The vision is where our eyes are directed and what we look for.

The philosophy

The values, how I try to work and things I’m attached to.

The Vision

Innovation and sustainability

Have you seen “Dear Alice”?

This beautiful story kind of sums up the future I want to go into:

  • Do my best to improve my animation skills
  • Creating meaningful stories
  • Work for projects that have positive impacts

Realistic but positive

The planet is dying. Yes, that’s a fact.

Yes, there’s awful numbers and studies published everyday (as long as we still have scientists that can do their work without being reduced to silence…). But I want to promote and focus on positive things.

Because yes, there’s also great things that are done in this world. Unfortunately, media seem to be more interested by other futile events… If we lose hope and do nothing because it looks “impossible”, then things just won’t change. Of course, we may not succeed. But rather this than not trying at all.

Developing a positive but realistic media focused on solutions is something I would really enjoy.

Keep enjoying

This relates to the positive attitude explained just before. If I want to do good things, I need to feel good. And for this, I want to keep on doing things I enjoy. Here’s a list of what I want to do :

-Writing stories.

Some people say I have great aptitude in writing and I think it is quite the fundamental of my creations.

-Travel and documentaries.

I feel like I need to see the world so I can better understand the way things work before talking about it.

-2D animation.

Because I just love it and how it allows us to tell stories in a different way and add to what “the camera can’t do”.

-Acting.

I already did some and this is still a kid’s dream.

The Philosophy

Showing the truth

Well… that’s quite a lie. Because, in cinema, everything’s fake.

What I mean is that I want to keep it real with the methods I use and be close to the reality into fiction. I don’t really use tons of effects and transitions because I feel like it is quiet “the easy way”.

One thing they said and that I really appreciated in my art school is:

The “Give up, you can’t understand. It’s an the artist.” is bullsh…

Real artists know exactly what they’re doing and why. Colours, shapes, typography, gimbal, camera shake and every transition need to have a purpose.

No AI

I don’t want to be the grumpy man and actually AI is a great tool! But I think we have to keep it as a tool and not as something doing the job for us.

I feel like we’re losing our humanity doing this. The heart and effort we put into things we create and make us proud seeing results. Great things take time. I’m always thinking about Cathedrals.

But time is money. So if for you money weighs more on the balance than quality, originality and human contact do, then go with it. You’ll just never get something new.

I love to talk with people and have kind of “deep conversations” with them. The sense of life and all these kind of things. I realised that a lot of people feel unhappy because they don’t really see the sense of their lives. And I feel that, with AI, we just contribute even more to that feeling…

I really believe in technology, science and innovation, but I think we really have to be careful how we include it in our world.

The Einsteinery

Who I am.

My name is Jonas and I prefer talking about my work than myself. So, here’s what people often say and I guess it gives a good summary:

I’m quite curious and enjoy discovering things, and I really love how my job pushes me to go in that way. Because, if you want to talk about a subject and make a story with it, I think that, first of all, you have to be pretty interested by it.

Why the Einsteinery?

People who knows me, especially my brother, use to call me Einstein. I don’t think I have anything of a genius, but it’s rather that they often look at me like : “What the hell is he doing?”

I’m clearly not Einstein, but I admit I like the identity it gives to my work. The scientist for the academic side, the joker for the frivolous one, and the fool for the creative ideas.

Where can we work together?

I’m actually located in Switzerland (the French part), but depending on the project, e.g. a documentary about sustainable fishing in Antartica, I just have to get my Mum’s permission and then let’s go !

It’s really up to the demands and my planning, but I’m always open to go on new adventures.

2019: first homemade movie and discovered the joy of editing for weeks…

2020-2023: Interactive Media Designer, CFC at ERACOM (Photography, Editing, Filming, Sound, Narration, animation, 3D,…)

Now: self-taught drawing and animation (21 Draw courses and books)

A good master is an eternal student

I still hope this presentation gives you a good glimpse of who I am and what I do. If you think I may help you with any creation, feel free to reach out !
