In July 2023, I finished my studies and decided to take a little break. A 1 week surf camp where I decided to go by myself. Alone… I really enjoyed discovering the beautiful land of Fuerteventura and meeting all of those people from around the world.
This is where I met Jolan, our surf instructor.
First thing he said? “Ask me first if you wanna film me man !”. And then we had plenty of time during the way to the beach to have great and deep conversations. His story and way of living really inspired me.
So I decided to ask him at the end of the week if he would agree to give me some of his time and heart for a quick interview. And here is the result. THANKS!
So yes, it took me almost two years. And it’s not that I didn’t have the time. I just didn’t TAKE the time. And this really comfort me in the way that it is really not the gear you have that will change the result. It is what you want to tell and how you tell it. I’m even rather glad I had other priorities during this 2 years. I have now knowledges in editing that I just didn’t have before.
It is my first time doing “documentaries” and I really look forward to do some others! It is so magic doing my work and passion while discovering and learning other’s. You can break the glass and people really open to you when you start to be interested in what they do.
